What is coaching?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential”. Coaching is a two way process and is different to consultancy, therapy or advice although it may be informed by and involve some of this.

What is Body Wisdom coaching?

Body wisdom coaching is an evidence based process informed by a deep understanding psychology, trauma, and spiritual healing and how these affect us in our day to day experience of life.

In simple language this means a process that works with the three parts of the brain in an integrated way (cognitive, limbic and primal).

This is important because most systems only address one, or sometimes two parts. When this happens, results are hit and miss and tend to be temporary.

What this looks like in practice is a combination of modern psychology, best practice relationship dynamics, somatic (body based) practices like breath and focus, and a spiritual foundation based on Tantra.

The combination of these has been scientifically proven to create deeply healing, and lasting experiences and outcomes for clients.

Why Tantra or spirituality?

Concepts such as mindfulness are now widely accepted as beneficial. The Tantric lineage is ancient and complex but for the purposes of my coaching, I take the principles of Love and Consciousness as the highest values, and support clients to open to the possibility of energy and of there being a divine aspect to everything in life.

When we are open to these, it can powerfully help to heal some of the social and cultural conditioning we carry about our bodies, emotions, behaviours, and around our sexuality. When we see our ourselves, our bodies and our experiences as inherently valid and worthy, real empowerment becomes possible, real mature relationships can be built and all round better experiences of life.
